Solutions

Inspect a bridge in a day, not a month

Capture, process, and deliver detailed inspection documentation faster than your clients expect.

Why traditional infrastructure inspection eats your margins

The inspection itself takes hours. Everything around it takes weeks.

Access logistics

Scaffolding, cherry pickers, and lane closures can cost a lot to arrange.

Documentation gaps

Field notes and handheld photos don't give clients the visual record they need.

Scheduling bottlenecks

Coordinating access permits and traffic management pushes jobs back by weeks.

Turnaround pressure

By the time the report is written up, the client has already chased you twice.

Downtime exposure

Structures stay partially closed or restricted while access equipment is in place.

Your reputation is built on how fast and clearly you can deliver your findings.

Show clients exactly how a structure has changed

View several inspection periods simultaneously: last year’s survey next to this year’s next to the area of concern, all at once. Demonstrate deterioration, verify repairs, and support maintenance scheduling with visual evidence that doesn’t require interpretation.

No specialist hardware. Runs on any laptop, tablet, or phone.

Documentation that holds up under scrutiny

Capture centimeter-accurate 2D and 3D data across the full structure in a single flight. Annotate findings directly on the model, take precise measurements from the desktop, and generate elevation profiles of any section without returning to site.

Export everything as a PDF report: structured, timestamped, and detailed enough to support engineering decisions.

Deliver findings to every stakeholder the moment the insights are ready

Asset owners, engineers of record, local authorities, insurance assessors—everyone gets access to the same data simultaneously. No per-seat fees. No sending large files by email. No explaining which version is current.

Your clients see a polished, navigable record. You move straight to the next job.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is drone-based infrastructure inspection?

Drones capture surface data across an entire earthworks area in a single flight. When processed into a digital surface model (DSM), that data allows exact cubic meter calculations to be run by drawing a polygon around any zone—either on a single surface to calculate stockpile volume, or between two layers from different dates to measure how much material has moved over a given period. AVAG handles both calculation types and generates exportable PDF reports from every measurement.

How long does a drone infrastructure inspection take?

Flight time depends on structure size and complexity. Data can be uploaded to AVAG immediately after the flight: Automated processing of up to 250 photos without GCPs completes in 35 minutes while Expert processing of up to 5,000 photos with GCPs takes around 9 hours. Annotations, measurements, and comparison against previous inspections are done in the AVAG platform, meaning a full inspection report from a standard flight can be delivered to the client the same day.

How does AVAG help inspection companies track structural condition over time?

Each inspection flight loads as a separate layer in AVAG. The multi-window feature displays up to four inspection periods simultaneously, so condition change is visible directly rather than described in a written report. Defect annotations from previous inspections remain on the model, allowing inspectors to return to the exact same location and assess whether a fault has stabilised, worsened, or been repaired.

Can inspection reports be shared directly with asset owners and engineers?

Yes. AVAG supports unlimited users per account at no additional cost. Asset owners, engineers of record, local authorities, and insurance assessors can all receive access to the same inspection data simultaneously. Granular rights management controls what each party can view and export. Clients access everything directly in their browser, no software installation required.

Do we need expensive computers?

No. The cloud-based platform runs in any browser and works on basic laptops, tablets, or phones. No hardware investment required.

Is drone inspection suitable for bridges and large infrastructure structures?

Yes. Drones can capture full structural coverage including undersides, abutments, piers, and deck surfaces, in other words, areas that are difficult or impossible to reach efficiently with traditional access methods.

How does drone inspection reduce costs compared to traditional methods?

A structure that takes a ground crew a few hours to inspect can take a drone 15 minutes to capture. That time difference is the saving: fewer hours on site, no no crew coordination, and a valuable visual insights ready the same day. Inspection companies using AVAG complete significantly more jobs in the same period than before.

What file formats can be imported into AVAG for infrastructure inspection projects?

AVAG works with data from most drone platforms and common photogrammetry workflows, so there is no need to change your existing capture setup. If you already process data externally, AVAG imports outputs directly from Pix4D, Agisoft, 3DSurvey, and DroneDeploy, accepting TIFF orthophotos and DSMs, LAS and LAZ point clouds, and mesh data as a ZIP package containing JPG, OBJ, and MTL files. For map visualization and overlay, AVAG supports CAD drawings, WMS services, 3D models, DXF, TXT, CSV, Shapefile, and PDF formats. High-resolution grid photos, 360° panoramic images, and imagery captured with or without GPS also import directly for processing within the platform. For inspection projects specifically, DXF structural drawings load as overlays for comparison against captured conditions, and previous inspection data in GeoJSON and ShapeFile formats imports for cross-referencing with new capture, keeping your full inspection history in one place regardless of which software or drone produced the original data.
